La derni\u00e8re fois qu’un nouveau sport a \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9 aux Jeux olympiques d’hiver, c’\u00e9tait il y a pr\u00e8s d’un quart de si\u00e8cle. Les Jeux de cette ann\u00e9e \u00e0 Milan et Cortina d’Ampezzo ont introduit une toute nouvelle discipline, mais ont \u00e9galement \u00e9largi sept disciplines existantes. <\/p>\n\n

Statistiques sportives cl\u00e9s pour les Jeux olympiques de Milan <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

En 2002, le skeleton a fait son apparition \u00e0 Salt Lake City, apr\u00e8s l’ajout du snowboard en 1998 \u00e0 Nagano. Cette ann\u00e9e, le ski-mo, abr\u00e9viation de ski alpinisme<\/a>, a rejoint le programme olympique, portant le nombre total de disciplines \u00e0 seize. Pr\u00e8s de 3 000 athl\u00e8tes s’affronteront dans plus d’une centaine d’\u00e9preuves m\u00e9daill\u00e9es, avec une r\u00e9partition hommes-femmes record, dont 47 % de femmes. <\/p>\n\n

Les meilleurs skieurs alpinistes du monde, ou ski-alpinistes, s’affronteront pour la premi\u00e8re fois sur la sc\u00e8ne olympique, participant aux \u00e9preuves de sprint masculin et f\u00e9minin ainsi qu’au relais mixte. <\/p>\n\n

Cette discipline trouve son origine dans une forme de ski pratiqu\u00e9e depuis longtemps dans les r\u00e9gions alpines du monde entier, o\u00f9 l’on n’utilise pas de remont\u00e9es m\u00e9caniques. Certaines parties de l’ascension se font en crampons et d’autres en skis. Les peaux d’ascension synth\u00e9tiques, ainsi nomm\u00e9es parce que leurs premi\u00e8res versions historiques \u00e9taient fabriqu\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de peau de phoque, sont fix\u00e9es \u00e0 la base des skis pour offrir une meilleure adh\u00e9rence lors de l’ascension, puis retir\u00e9es avant la descente. <\/p>\n\n

Si les skieurs alpins fran\u00e7ais et espagnols sont les principaux pr\u00e9tendants aux m\u00e9dailles, l’Am\u00e9ricain Griffin Briley<\/a>, \u00e2g\u00e9 de 19 ans, a de bonnes chances de se battre pour une place en finale.<\/p>\n\n

Changements dans le ski alpin aux Jeux olympiques d’hiver de 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Une \u00e9preuve combin\u00e9e par \u00e9quipe de ski alpin fera son apparition sur la sc\u00e8ne olympique, rempla\u00e7ant les \u00e9preuves combin\u00e9es par \u00e9quipe et individuelles parall\u00e8les, et ramenant le nombre total de m\u00e9dailles en ski alpin de 11 \u00e0 10. Avec Mikaela Shiffrin<\/a> et Breezy Johnson<\/a> qui ont remport\u00e9 la m\u00e9daille d’or par \u00e9quipe aux Championnats du monde 2025 \u00e0 Saalbach, l’\u00e9quipe am\u00e9ricaine est \u00e0 surveiller dans cette \u00e9preuve<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n

Plus d’\u00e9galit\u00e9 entre les sexes dans le ski de fond et le saut \u00e0 ski<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Pour la premi\u00e8re fois dans l’histoire, les skieurs de fond<\/a> s’affronteront sur les m\u00eames distances, quel que soit leur sexe. Douze m\u00e9dailles seront d\u00e9cern\u00e9es dans des courses allant de 7,5 \u00e0 50 kilom\u00e8tres. <\/p>\n\n

Le saut \u00e0 ski f\u00e9minin fera ses d\u00e9buts<\/a> dans une \u00e9preuve sur grand tremplin, \u00e0 l’instar des \u00e9preuves masculines sur tremplin normal et grand tremplin, mais seuls les hommes participeront \u00e0 la nouvelle \u00e9preuve par \u00e9quipes.<\/p>\n\n

En luge<\/a>, le double f\u00e9minin a \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9 au programme, apportant enfin la parit\u00e9 tant attendue dans cette discipline.<\/p>\n\n

Une \u00e9preuve de bosses en duo s’ajoute aux \u00e9preuves individuelles habituelles de bosses en ski acrobatique<\/a>, dans laquelle deux skieurs s’affrontent dans une course simultan\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n

En skeleton, le nouveau relais mixte associe une patineuse et un patineur.
