Founded in Poland in 1989, Cumulus is a family-owned brand specializing in insulated jackets and sleeping bags, as well as complete sleeping solutions that include bivvy tarps, hammocks, and more.

From the start, Cumulus’ founders were passionate about the highest quality,ethical Polish down. Seeking to pair it with cutting-edge textiles, they reached out to Pertex®, a Japanese leader in lightweight, synthetic fabrics for the outdoor industry. This collaboration resulted in the creation of the first line of Cumulus products: sleeping bags designed for high-altitude expedition climbing.

Cumulus keeps both design and production in-house, remaining dedicated to traditional craftsmanship. Equipped with modern manufacturing machinery, an experienced sewing team is one of the pillars of the company’s success — the other being the use of only the highest quality materials. For both jackets and sleeping bags, every down-filled chamber is weighed separately, leaving no room for mistakes. In addition, every Cumulus sleeping bag is made from start to finish by one person, ensuring the highest quality for the ultimate performance under all conditions.

Recognizing the different applications of down and synthetic insulation, the brand recently diversified its offering by developing a line of Climashield® Apex-filled vests and jackets. Called Climalite, the range includes a sleeveless vest, a zip-down jacket, and a pullover, with all three available in men’s and women’s cuts. By combining the best continuous filament synthetic insulation on the market with the Pertex® Quantum fabrics, the Climalite line has an incredible weight-to-warmth ratio and unparalleled packability.

Each Climalite garment features minimal design, essential not only for maintaining a low weight, but also for reducing water absorption and expediting the drying process. Despite its exceptional thinness, the 29g/m DWR-treated outer layer is both highly water-resistant and remarkably windproof. The deployment of Climashield® Apex (67g/m²) is a guarantee of the highest thermal efficiency even when the garment is wet.

YKK® zips, a high chin guard, elasticated hems with draw cords, zipper pockets, and a stuff sack complete every Climalite jacket and vest, making them as versatile as they are durable. In addition, the Climalite Full Zip Jacket comes with an adjustable, helmet-compatible hood and two hand-warmer pockets. These pockets are also included in the Climalite vests, while the more minimalist pullover only features one chest pocket.

The Climalite Full Zip jacket (size M, men’s) weighs in at an impressive 335 g (under 0.73 lbs), while the Pullover’s weight was reduced to 235g (0.5 lbs).

All Cumulus products are covered by a lifetime warranty. Furthermore, many types of damage caused by the user or related to the natural wear and tear of products can be sent to the manufacturer for repair.
