Founded in 1887, S-GARD is the leading European provider of protective clothing for fire service professionals. From its beginnings as a specialist fabric weaving mill to its present-day success in protective workwear, S-GARD is a family-owned business committed to the highest technological and ethical standards.

At the company’s headquarters in Heinsberg, Germany, 60 employees manage the entire product development and material purchasing processes, while also overseeing production and quality control. Closely collaborating with the best fire service professionals in Europe, S-GARD produces firefighting suits, high-visibility clothing, and technical rescue gear.

All S-GARD’s products are conceived and created to provide the highest level of safety and comfort, protecting firefighters from flames, injury, moisture, and other hazards encountered in their everyday work. Every piece of equipment leaving the S-GARD manufacturing facilities has a unique batch number sewn into it, allowing for full traceability of the materials used, including place and date of production, and the employee who made the item.

The S-GARD INSULATOR

From routine duties to rescue operations, S-GARD products accompany fire service professionals in every aspect of their work. Functional and performance-oriented, the super lightweight INSULATOR jacket is part of S-GARD’s fire station wear line. Made with Green Side fabrics and Climashield APEX, the INSULATOR has an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio making it an ideal station work jacket. Thanks to the synthetic continuous filament insulation, the jacket is also extremely compressible and resistant to repeated washing cycles. Although the INSULATOR maintains its properties even when wet, when a heavy-duty hardshell is indispensable, the INSULATOR can be paired with the rugged DRYGARD waterproof jacket.

Fully reversible (one side in black/blue, the other in vibrant red), the INSULATOR features one zipped chest pocket, two side pockets with covered zips, elasticated sleeve cuffs and hems, and reflective patches. The unisex model is available in a wide range of sizes (XS–XXL).

The S-GARD sustainability

Committed to minimizing their impact on the environment, S-GARD has established an environmental management system based on ISO 14001 . From reducing waste and fuel consumption to using OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics, a host of initiatives has been employed as part of the ongoing effort to improve environmental impact. A recent highlight at the company’s Heinsber headquarters is the new solar panel installation able to produce more sustainable energy than is required for the HQ’s operation.
