DNS Alpha is a German tactical clothing manufacturer whose name derives from its motto: Development Never Stops. The company’s products are designed for armed forces, outdoor expedition and rescue teams, and heavy industry professionals.
DNS Alpha products excel in military operations, where every ounce of weight is critical, and every sound can reveal one’s position. When even minor mistakes carry high risks, the wearer must have complete confidence in their equipment. DNS Alpha’s internal development team designs fabrics that meet the rigorous material standards required for military and governmental applications. Working closely with customers and integrating feedback from real-world use allows the company to continually optimize their range.
The work of emergency responders demands total trust in their gear as any distraction could compromise the mission. Beyond cutting-edge research and development, DNS Alpha is dedicated to rigorous product testing. The ergonomic design ensures intuitive use, saving valuable seconds when every moment matters.
The DNS Alpha Heavy Insulation Hoody is one part of the company’s most advanced tactical clothing systems. Engineered to deliver top-tier cold protection in extreme conditions, it features a minimalist modern design with smart, no-frills functionality. A mechanically textured polyamide 6.6 is used as the outer material. The unique stretch construction of the back of the garment, drawstring-adjustable hood and Lycra cuffs complete the design created for unrestricted movement.
The upper arm pockets are equipped with secure zippers offering easy access to essentials. The hand-warmer pockets are insulated for additional comfort. Dedicated loop fields with integrated pen holders provide space for attaching patches or markers.
At the core of the Heavy Insulation Hoody is APEX continuous filament synthetic insulation: 100g/m2 in the body and 70g/m2 in the sleeves of the jacket. Providing high thermal output without extra weight, Climashield® insulation is both rugged and compressible. DWR-treated water-repellent polyester fibers do not require quilting, avoiding cold patches and allowing the jacket’s optimal performance at -10°C (14°F).
For temperature management, the Heavy Insulation Hoody becomes a part of a moisture-wicking multi-layer system. The DNS Alpha’s product range includes pure merino base layers as well as synthetic mid-layers designed to integrate seamlessly with the Heavy Insulation Hoody, as well as other outer layers.
